The Hyattsville Preservation Association, Inc. (HPA) was incorporated in 1982 and was granted tax exempt status under IRS code section 501(c)(3) to facilitate "educational and charitable projects pertaining to the discovery and memorialization of the history and architecture of the City of Hyattsville, Maryland." Our 200-family membership dedicates their personal resources, expertise, and energies to the preservation of Hyattsville's homes and neighborhoods. Discounts: A variety of local businesses whose products and
services are useful for the restoration and preservation of older properties
offer discounts to HPA members with their membership cards. Camaraderie
and Communication: Our monthly HPA newsletter keeps you informed
about upcoming events, meetings, and member activities. The Preservation
Quarterly provides a more scholarly look at various issues related to
Hyattsville, its history, the built environment, and historic preservation. MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES Meetings:
Regular meetings are held with special-guest presentations about rehabilitation
tax credits, restoration techniques, and local history.
