[graphic] news28th Annual Historic Hyattsville House Tour SUNDAY MAY 20, 2007 1-5pm This year's Historic Hyattsville House Tour includes ten wonderful homes and a garden. The architectural styles range from Art-deco and Sear's Bungalows, to a Center Hall Colonial, to a grand Queen-Anne style Victorian. Each home showcases the owner's unique approach to making the house comfortable for life in 2007. Our town and our homeowners are proud to share our neighborhood with you.

The Hyattsville House Tour is a self-guided walking tour through the beautiful Historic town of Hyattsville. For those with difficulty walking the tour, Hyattsville provides a shuttle van that continuously circles the route.

Ticket Information: Adults: $10 in advance, $12 Day of Tour; Children 5-17 years $2, under 5 are free. Advance tickets will be available at Franklin's Restaurant and Store, on Route 1 in May. On the day of the tour tickets can be purchased at the Hyattsville Municipal Building, 4310 Gallatin Street, Hyattsville, MD, the starting location.

May is National Preservation Month. This year's theme is Making Preservation Work

Learn about recieving tax credits for work on your home. Join HPA for a meeting on historic rehabilitation tax credits on April 18th at 7:00 pm in the Prangley meeting room (second floor) at the Hyattsville Municipal Building, 4310 Gallatin St.

HYATTSVILLE's 26th ANNUAL HOUSE TOUR - Sunday, May 15, 2005 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Tour starts at 4310 Gallatin Street, Hyattsville Municipal Building. Advance ticket sales begin April 20 at Franklin's, Route 1 and Gallatin Street. Tickets will be $10.00 in advance and $15.00 on the day of the tour.

Development proposals by Eakin/Youngentob Associates Inc. (EYA) plans demolition of several historic buildings along Hyattsville's Rt. 1 Main Street, these buildings include the circa 1950's showroom as well as earlier buildings now commonly referred to as the "collision center". HPA wants to maintain the integrity of Hyattsville's National Register historic district and hopes for reuse of these historically significant properties. HPA is sponsoring a letter-writing campaign supporting preservation. Look here for more information on EYA's proposal or to join the letter-writing campaign

The expanded Hyattsville Historic District was officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places on December 15, 2004.
